The Recipe Box: Frosted Jack-O’-Lanterns

Have you ever been invited to a Halloween party and been told to bring a dish? Well, here is a quick, easy and fun dish to bring. I guarantee everybody at the party will be amazed at the idea and want to know where you got the recipe.
You will need the following:
Large oranges - the number needed depends on the number of pumpkins you want to make
1 tub ice cream (your choice of flavor)
A knife or carving tool
Candy decorations
1. Cut off the top of the orange. Don’t cut too deep. Do this like you would cut off the top of a pumpkin.
2. Scoop out the inside of the orange to where it is clean enough to put ice cream in. You don’t need the orange sections, so you can eat them, save them and use them for juice or throw them away.
3. Take your knife or carving tool and create a face that only you, the creator, could love.
4. Fill the orange with ice cream almost to the top. (Basically, you want it to fill the space behind the face you’ve carved).
5. Freeze the creations for at least two hours before you serve.
6. Get creative! You can put the tops back on and add “stems” of green gumdrops, or you can leave them off and put green spoons in the ice cream to look like stems. Add any other decorations you can think of as long as they won’t endanger someone’s health.
Thanks to www.cooksrecipes.com for this cute idea.
