In the beginning, there was FlipSide Magazine...
Then came FlipSide Saturday.
Now, here's a new component of The Charleston Gazette's teen publication program: wvflipside.com.
Since September 1991, the Gazette has been "the source of all things teen" in the Kanawha Valley and beyond with its FlipSide publications. FlipSide Magazine is a 12-page section circulated directly to high schools from October through May. FlipSide Saturday is a front-page section that appears weekly in the Gazette.
The FlipSide Web site adds a high-tech element to the mix. Not only does it contain all of the content found in both print publications, but it also serves up fresh news on a regular basis. No matter where you live in West Virginia, you can access the site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to find articles written by people your own age -- not adults.
Get some culture with "Pulse," a look at books, movies, music and more. Plan your life with our "To Do List," a roundup of regional events. Visit our "Studio" to see cool art and neat photos. Play "Mind Games" and go creative with poems and short stories. Check out "Sound Off" to see how students answer our question of the month. Tell us what you think about things with "Says You."
Students from schools in several West Virginia counties contribute content for FlipSide. We also welcome submissions from our teen readers.
Need more info? Want to tell us how we can make our "FlipSite" even better? Send an e-mail to FlipSide editor Amy Robinson at flipside@wvgazette.com.
