He's the winner
Glen Brogan, a junior at Capital High School, has smoked the competition to take top honors in Charlestons Smoke on the Water Chili Cook-off Art Contest.
For his winning effort, Brogan receives $100 and the honor of having his design placed on the cook-off T-shirts, the official cook-off Web site and the June 17 Sunday Gazette/Mail cover of the Smoke on the Water advertising supplement. And, he gets to see his artwork on promotional posters and in newspaper ads.
Brogan, 17, will be officially recognized at the third annual Smoke on the Water Chili Cook-off, which will take place June 23 on Kanawha Boulevard in front of Haddad Riverfront Park.
Other entries were received from Laura Beard, Riverside High; Eric Daddysman, Winfield High; Kelly Price, Riverside High; and Tamara Thompson, Capital High. Their outstanding work made it a tough job for the judges.
